Your free week becomes a paid membership unless you cancel

Your free week lasts 7 days and starts when your grant list is ready. Your card is kept on file, and nothing is charged during the week.

On day 8, membership starts automatically at $95 a month, charged to your card on file, and renews every month until you cancel. If you choose the yearly plan, membership is $950 a year and renews every year until you cancel. There is no minimum term.

You can cancel online at any time: before day 8 with Cancel my free week on your results page, and after that on the Membership tab of your member area. Cancel before day 8 and you pay nothing. See Refunds and cancelling for what happens when you cancel a membership.

1. What we do

We find grants your organization may be eligible for, judged against each funder's own published rules, and when you choose, we write grant applications with you. The score on each grant on your list shows how sure we are that you are eligible. It is not a prediction that you will be funded.

2. What you do

You give us accurate information about your organization and tell us when it changes. You decide what is sent to a funder, and you submit each application yourself. Your relationship with each funder is your own.

3. Membership

Membership includes your full grant profile with a readiness report, your list kept current as funders change their rules and windows, a search for you every month plus two searches of your own, reminders before each deadline, the answers we get back from funders, and 100 credits a month.

If you join during your free week, your membership starts and is charged that day. If you join the yearly plan during your free week, your first application is written free.

4. Applications and other paid work

  • Your first application: $1,500, once. It includes your first month of membership, so a monthly member's next monthly charge is covered. It is free if you joined the yearly plan during your free week.
  • Each application after that: $600, or 1,200 credits.
  • Funders that ask for an inquiry or letter of intent first: the inquiry is $100, or 200 credits. If the funder invites a full proposal, the proposal costs the application price minus what the inquiry cost.
  • Extras, only when you ask for one: a board policy written or updated, 100 credits ($50); a deficit plan, 150 credits ($75); your budget fixed, 100 credits ($50). Each includes one round of changes.

The price is shown before you confirm, and you are charged when you confirm the work on the site. Everything else, including help understanding any document we ask for, is part of membership. We never take a percentage of any grant you receive.

5. Credits

Each month of membership adds 100 credits. A credit is worth 50 cents toward our services. When your credits cover the whole price of an application or an inquiry, they pay for it; otherwise your card is charged, and one item is never split between credits and card.

Credits expire five years after they are added, and the oldest are used first. No credits are added while your membership is paused. Credits cannot be transferred and have no cash value, except as set out in Refunds and cancelling, and except that if your credits are worth $5 or less in total, we pay them out in cash when you ask.

6. Pausing and cancelling

You can pause your membership for up to 30 days, or cancel it, on the Membership tab of your member area. The full rules are on Refunds and cancelling.

7. Deadlines and staying in touch

We need your answers and documents five weeks before the funder's deadline, and we remind you a week before that date and again on it. If we have not heard from you three weeks before the deadline, we set the application aside for that round. Your payment stays with it: we pick it up for the same funder's next deadline, or you can move it to another grant on your list, any time in the next twelve months.

If writing has begun and we do not hear back on your draft one week before the deadline, we finish it as written so you can still submit on time. If the deadline passes because we did not hear from you, the payment is not refunded, but we update the application for the same funder's next round at no extra charge within twelve months.

8. What we do not promise

No grant is guaranteed. Funders decide who they fund, and they change their rules, windows and amounts, sometimes without notice. We update your list when we find a change.

9. Your documents and our work

The documents you send stay yours. The applications we write for you are yours to use once they are paid for. We never share your documents or your organization's details with another client, or with a funder, without your say. When we ask a funder a question about its rules on your behalf, we ask in general terms and do not name your organization or your partners unless you agree.

10. Accuracy

Everything we write for you comes from your answers and your documents. If a statement cannot be backed up by them, we tell you and leave it out of what we write.

11. Payment

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We keep only the card brand and its last four digits. If a membership payment fails, Stripe tries the card again over the following days and emails you; you can update your card on the Membership tab at any time. If every retry fails, your membership ends.

12. Ending the service

You can cancel at any time as described above. We can end the service with notice if a payment fails and is not made up.

13. Limits on our liability

Our total liability to you for any claim about our services is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for a funder's decision, for a deadline missed because we did not have what we needed from you, or for indirect or consequential losses.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we email members before the change takes effect and post the new date at the top of this page. A change to your price or your plan never applies to a period you have already paid for.

15. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Colorado. Any dispute goes to the courts of Jefferson County, Colorado.
